Duties/Responsibilities

1. Work on remote sensing and modeling related research with a focus on surveillance protocols for BSNB in the southeastern U.S. Develop a sampling design framework that will address the numerous goals of this grant along with other secondary uses.
2. Timely dissemination of results in peer-reviewed journals, outreach publications, and book chapters, and various presentations at scientific meetings.
3. Networking with other scientists, stakeholders, and collaborators, and writing grant proposals, as needed.
4. Work and collaborate with the Plantation Management Research Cooperative (PMRC) research group on various forest biometrics related projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in forestry or closely related field is needed. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Remote sensing, modeling, forest inventory sampling techniques and statistics, sample experimental design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands

Visits to field sites in rough terrain to verify data quality and sampling schemes. Some overnight travel.
