  1. Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experimentsor projects under control or supervisory responsibility.
  2. Recommends changes in research, testing or experimentalprocedures.
  3. May be responsible for a single highly technical and complexpiece of research equipment.
  4. May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
  5. May plan for and assign personnel to projects undercontrol.
  6. Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
  7. May receive general supervision conferring with higher levelsonly in unusual situations.
  8. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Additional Posting Information:

In the Postdoctoral Fellow position offered, the successfulcandidate will have strong academic preparation and experience inboth experimental and modeling research work documented bycorresponding journal publications, and is expected to perform thefollowing tasks/duties for the research group:

  • Conduct Research in Plasma Stimulation, both experimentally andnumerically
  • Use simulation models to design and/or analyze observed labexperimental results.
  • Explore the exploitation of geothermal resources.
  • Coordinate the work of PhD students involved with the project(s)in the research team.
  • Participate in internal and external weekly meetings.
  • Help in preparing quarterly, yearly, and final reports.
  • Help to meet project(s) deliverables.
  • Help in writing research proposals soliciting funds from fundingagencies such as DOE, NSF, etc.
  • Help in writing and presenting technical articles on the researchbeing developed and results obtained.
  • Help in filing patents on research efforts.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

The minimum requirement for the position is a Doctor of Philosophyin a directly related Engineering or Science field withspecialization directly related to the type of work brieflydescribed above and planned to be performed.
