A postdoctoral position is available in the Department ofMechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University ofHouston.

The project will focus on developing machine learning–basedapproaches to predict structure–property relationships, includingdamage evolution, in recyclable composite materials. The successfulcandidate will work at the interface of computational mechanics,materials science, and machine learning to develop next-generationpredictive models of composite behavior. The project is highlycollaborative and involves interactions with researchers fromacademia, a leading applied research organization, andindustry.

Required qualifications

  • - PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field

Preferred qualifications

  • - Extensive experience with modern machine learning tools andtechniques
  • - Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
  • - Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability topresent research in group meetings, project reviews, andconferences
