The Department of Biological Sciences at Rutgers University‑Newark seeks an entry‑level Post‑Doctoral Associate. The laboratory uses the genetic model system Drosophila melanogaster to study signaling pathways and regulatory proteins the impact intracellular transport. Disruption of intracellular transport is linked to a number of neurological disorders in humans, and these studies will be applicable to understanding how transport contributes to these disorders. The lab uses genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and microscopy in these studies. A qualified Post‑Doctoral Associate candidate should be able to work independently to perform lab work in these research areas.
