Job summary

UL Research Institutes in Rockville, MD, seeks a Post-Doctoral Researcher, New Materials to advance safe energy storage materials and electrolytes for high-performance batteries.

You will conduct independent research, collaborate with universities and ULRI, and contribute to webinars and journal publications. A PhD in chemistry or materials science is required, with electrochemistry experience preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, materials science and engineering within three years of appointment.
• Experience in electrochemistry or materials lab.
• Ability to publish and present findings.
• Collaborate with ULRI and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Conducts primary research in safe energy storage materials, including extreme fast charging and advanced electrolytes.
• Develop independent research and test hypotheses.
• Assist with experiments, data collection, and evaluations; analyze results.
• Plan, design and execute procedures to test and validate results.
• Publish papers and present findings at webinars/conferences.
