Job summary

Doncasters in Oxford, Alabama, is seeking a Post-Casting Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the primary technical authority for post-solidification operations, from shell knockout to final drawing conformance. This on-site role owns process sequencing, equipment programming, and standard work, ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface finish for turbine blades and vanes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Materials Science & Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering in heavy industry or foundry.
• Experience with chemical leaching, high-pressure water systems, thermal processing, or precision grinding/blending.
• Understanding of mechanical metal removal, abrasive media selection, and tool/fixture design.
• Familiarity with AMS2750/Nadcap heat treatment and outsourced processes.
• Basic knowledge of industrial chemical controls, autoclaves, and chemical handling.
• Ability to read complex casting drawings and interpret color maps for blending.

Responsibilities

• Owns process sequencing and equipment programming for post-solidification operations.
• Owns standard work for clearing raw castings into certified shippable products.
• Drives post-cast throughput and dimensional integrity for blades and vanes.
• Ensures chemical/thermal process compliance and surface finish.
