Job summary

Virginia Tech in Blacksburg seeks a Post Award Associate to manage receipt and payment processing for subaward invoices within 30 days. You will coordinate with faculty, departments, and Post Award Associates to ensure timely payments, using Hokiemart and the Award Management System, with final review before closeout and encumbrance release if needed.

The role requires experience in accounting or budgeting, strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to work in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Experience with bookkeeping, accounting practices, and/or budgeting.
• Demonstrated experience and/or education with emphasis on accounting, finance, or government/business regulations and accounting practices.
• Proficient with general office software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and email platforms, as well as document management tools.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage and track multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process subaward invoices within 30 days of receipt.
• Review invoices for acceptability against terms of award and secure PI approval.
• Process payment using Hokiemart procurement system.
• Load completed package to the Award Management System.
• Send invoice to controller’s office for payment processing.
• Track and follow up on approvals to ensure prompt pay.
