Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Post-Acute Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist to enhance the quality and completeness of clinical documentation to support accurate coding in the post-acute inpatient setting. You will review daily admissions and concurrent records to ensure full documentation and accuracy.

You will query physicians for specificity and provide documentation and coding education, collaborating with the Revenue Cycle team to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; BSN preferred, ASN with 2 years' substitutive option acceptable.
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience in CDIS, SNF, IRF or LTCH.
• Active Florida RN license or MD equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate improvement in clinical documentation quality to support coding in post-acute inpatient settings.
• Review daily new admission post-acute records and concurrent reviews until discharge.
• Query physicians to ensure specificity of diagnoses or procedures for accurate profiling and reporting outcomes.
• Provide documentation and coding education as needed.
