Job summary

Christ Lutheran Church (CLC) in Blair, Nebraska is seeking a pastor who will preach from the Bible, administer the holy sacraments, and provide visionary leadership. The ideal candidate holds a Master of Divinity, has experience in ministry, and is a member of LCMC or aligned with its Statement of Faith.

Job description

Christ Lutheran Church (CLC) is a spirit-driven, joyful family of believers. CLC is located in the Trinity Chapel on the former Dana College Campus. Our congregation has a unique opportunity to be the spiritual cornerstone of the former Campus, as it is being revitalized to serve the community and surrounding areas.

Position Summary

Following the retirement of our pastor of twelve and a half years, CLC is currently seeking a pastor whom God is calling to uphold our mission, shepherd our congregation, and continue leading us as a growing, spiritual church. The pastor will serve by preaching from the Bible, administering the holy sacraments, providing visionary leadership, and pastoral care. The pastor will work alongside the church staff and the congregation to equip believers, foster spiritual growth, and advance the mission of our church both locally and globally. The pastor is expected to abide by the LCMC Statement of Faith and is accountable to members of the church.

Community Information

Blair is a riverside town of 8,000 people with boutique shopping, and about 25 miles from the Omaha metro area, which will soon have an international airport. Blair hosts multiple hometown events and also is home to several large companies including Cargill and a newly built Dollar General warehouse. To support this growth, several new housing developments are under construction. A federal wildlife refuge (DeSoto), multiple historical sites, and several camping areas are nearby.
