Job summary

Universal Dedicated of Detroit is seeking CDL-A drivers for local shuttle routes in Detroit, MI. This union role offers home daily schedules, 1st shift from 5:00 am to 2:30 pm, and year-round work through a Teamsters Local 299 affiliation.

Routes are 2–3 runs per day with 8–9 hour days and overtime after 40 hours. Training may apply for recent graduates under the T2T program, with seniority-based bidding every six months.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A CDL
• 21 years of age or older
• Clean driving record with strong safety history
• Must meet DOT requirements
• Strong communication and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Safely transport materials between terminal and customer locations
• Follow delivery schedules based on customer production needs

Local CDL-A Shuttle Drivers Needed – Home Daily!

Universal Dedicated of Detroit is seeking reliable CDL-A drivers for local shuttle routes based in Detroit, MI. This is a great opportunity to join a union position with steady freight, consistent schedules, and daily home time.

Terminal Location:

14250 Plymouth Rd
Detroit, MI

Pay:

• $22.50/hour experienced drivers
• $21.00/hour for 0-1 year experience
• After 1 year jumps to $ 24.25 /hour

Position Details:

• Local shuttle routes (home daily)
• 1st shift opening 5 am - 2:30 pm
• Light touch freight (not loading and unloading but will involve chaining or strapping up loads that drivers are held accountable for)
• 2–3 runs per day between terminal and customer locations
• Consistent 8–9 hour workdays
• OT after 40 hours (5-10 hours usually for 5 day work week. more if a 6th day is offered)
• Stable, year-round work
• Union position (Teamsters Local 299)
• Seniority-based route bidding every 6 months

Responsibilities:
