DPI Staffing, a division of The DPI Group, is seeking an Industrial Sewing Operator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Portland, OR near Swan Island. You will operate industrial sewing machines, read work orders, and prepare materials to meet specifications.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with a standard 8-hour shift plus lunch. This position offers stable weekly pay and a path to permanent employment with a reliable employer.

Qualifications

• Prior industrial sewing or garment/tailoring experience preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Solid work history with consistent tenure.
• Punctual and reliable attendance in a fast-paced production environment.
• Comfortable standing and performing repetitive tasks for the duration of a shift.
• Reliable transportation is helpful, as public transit service to this location is limited.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening (THC excluded), background check, and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to assemble and finish products to specification.
• Read work orders and follow patterns, measurements, and material specs accurately.
• Cut, prepare, and stage materials for sewing.
• Inspect finished work for quality and consistency.
• Use hand tools as needed to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Wear required PPE (eye and ear protection provided) at all times.
