Panthalassa, a renewable energy and ocean technology company based in Portland, Oregon, invites applications for a Summer 2027 Engineering Intern. You will work on real technical problems supporting the development and scaling of our Node technology.

We recruit across mechanical, manufacturing, and software disciplines; projects depend on your background and team needs. Expect to learn quickly, document work, and own your project with guidance from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related field.
Strong technical fundamentals and hands‑on experience.
Ability to work on-site in Portland for the internship duration.

Responsibilities

Own and execute a defined technical project supporting Node technology.
Apply engineering fundamentals and analytical reasoning to solve problems.
Build, test, or improve physical or software systems.
Analyze technical data to inform decisions.
Create technical documentation (designs, analyses, test results, software docs).
Participate in technical reviews and communicate findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
Take ownership and communicate progress and blockers.
Incorporate feedback as priorities evolve.
