Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Analyst for Specialty Underwriting and Portfolio Management within the Corporate & Sponsor Lending - Cash Flow group in Chicago, IL. You will manage a portfolio of loan accounts, perform financial analysis, ensure compliance with loan covenants, and support the underwriting team on loan modifications and renewals.

The role emphasizes attention to data accuracy, market research, and collaboration with internal partners to drive portfolio performance and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management or asset management.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary account manager for a portfolio of ~15 loan accounts.
• Evaluate accounts and credit facilities by performing financial statement analysis, reviewing spreads, calculating adherence to compliance statements & loan covenants, and assessing risk.
• Ensure portfolio data is accurate, timely, and complete for strong reporting capabilities.
• Perform research and analysis of industry and market data to complete financial projections.
• Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures for existing accounts.
• Compile and synthesize loan, market and company information for annual client reviews and amendments.
• Support underwriting on material loan modifications including renewals, refinancing and recapitalizations via due diligence and financial modeling.
• Prepare and present account updates to senior leadership during quarterly portfolio reviews.
