Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance seeks a Portfolio Principal Engineer to consultant on highly complex software and data projects, leading data architectures and governance across the portfolio. The role combines advanced technical leadership with mentorship in a hybrid environment.

The PPE collaborates with engineering, leadership, and cross-portfolio teams to ensure scalable data delivery, analytics, and reporting solutions that align with business goals and data strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years delivering large data/software solutions in agile environments.
• Experience with front-end and back-end development, data architectures and analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop complex data solutions as a technical expert for data initiatives across the portfolio.
• Design data models and architectures to improve data accessibility, governance, and quality.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and guide product teams in data initiatives.
• Improve data pipelines, processes, and efficiency while reducing costs.
• Lead and mentor data engineers across the portfolio.
• Ensure teams follow best practices and standards for data products.
• Collaborate with Solutions Engineer on roadmaps, design, and implementation plans.
• Contribute to forums and knowledge sharing to improve engineering outcomes.
