Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation in CityScape seeks a Portfolio Manager II for Digital Assets to analyze, structure, underwrite, and onboard Blockchain and Digital Asset Business Deposit Accounts in compliance with the Bank's policies.

You will partner with the Vice President and Relationship Manager to assess credit needs, coordinate loan processing, ensure regulatory compliance, and support regional goals while delivering superior service and safeguarding deposits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of portfolio management or banking experience.
• Experience with digital assets (blockchain, bitcoin, crypto) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience preferred.
• KYC experience preferred.
• Knowledge of general banking operations (deposits, loans, treasury) at an intermediate level.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance obligations.
• Knowledge of commercial credit, loan structuring and pricing; credit analyst training completed.
• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

What you'll do:

The Digital Assets Group Portfolio Manager position is responsible for analyzing, structuring, underwriting, and coordinating the onboard of Blockchain and Digital Asset Business Deposit Accounts in compliance with the Bank's Digital Asset Group policies and procedures. The Portfolio Manager will manage deposits to ensure customer and sector-related risks are responsibly monitored and identified. This position will assist in attaining established Bank, region, and branch goals through active participation in underwriting and closing desirable deposits. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

• Along with the Vice President, Commercial Banker interface with clients in-person, over the phone and email in order to assess their credit needs and determine the best structure and items needed for analysis.

• Gather and analyze necessary information to present along with the Relationship Manager, a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval.

• Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; assist in solving problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within the Relationship Managers portfolio.

• Reinforce superior customer service through your own example along with appropriate follow-through with involved customers and employees.

• Handle various other underwriting, portfolio management and upkeep tasks and responsibilities related to new loan requests and/or the existing Relationship Managers portfolio.

What you'll need:

• 4+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field, within banking.

• Experience with Digital Assets (such as blockchain, bitcoin, cryptocurrency) is highly preferred.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

• Experience with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management is highly preferred.

• Experience with KYC (know your customer) is preferred.

• Entry level to intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.

• Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.

• Entry level to intermediate knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, and pricing dynamics. Credit analyst training completed.

• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
