About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Portfolio Manager II for our Murray branch.

ROLE:

Responsible for providing competent credit analysis and portfolio management for commercial lending activities. Oversee credit workflows and processes necessary for the team to achieve optimal levels of production while maintaining excellent credit quality in the portfolio. PM’s work directly with clients on requests and portfolio management duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee a complex loan portfolio between $60mm and $92mm in loans outstanding
  • Maintain optimal portfolio quality by monitoring and ensuring:
  • Borrowing Base Certificates are timely, accurate and filed
  • Lines secured with A/R & inventory assets are not overdrawn
  • Financial reporting requirements are timely, accurate and filed
  • Loan covenants are monitored in a manner that is timely and accurate
  • Portfolio delinquency is minimized
  • Maturing loans are tracked and properly addressed prior to maturity
  • Annual reviews and ADC reviews are completed in a manner that is timely and accurate
  • Graded credits have accurate and updated Problem Loan Reports
  • Perform commercial loan underwriting tasks such as; analyze business & personal tax returns and financial statements, identify trends and concerns and work closely with assigned commercial team and customers to understand & mitigate credit issues
  • Assess credit worthiness of individuals, companies, and institutions
  • Undertakes risk analysis using regional and industry-specific data and gauges market trends
  • Provide informed professional opinions to bank officers regarding applicants financial/credit status, suggest loan structures, and support the lending process
  • Clearly and professionally communicates with lending teams and customers and responds to communication within one business day
  • Adherence and deep knowledge of loan policy to be used while underwriting and discussing potential loan requests
  • Complete preflight memos to be presented to Senior Credit Risk Officers for new loan requests greater than $5mm
  • Complete credit memos to be presented for approval for both new and renewing loans within 15 days of receiving a complete application
  • Completes quality assurance reviews
  • Determine value of collateral; review independent appraisal reports and other collateral documents that secure the bank’s lien position
  • Lead projects that will consist primarily of credit administration issues and may relate to possible changes in policies and procedure, possible changes as a result of examiner or auditor recommendations, peer group analysis, market studies, changes in compliance and regulations, software upgrades, monitoring of industry or borrower concentrations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for efficiency gains such as out-sourcing, in-sourcing, centralization of duties/staff, etc.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, in addition to all company policies.
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s). It is the individual learner responsibility to ensure that they understand the information given to them in each training. If the learner does not understand the information given they need to reach out to their supervisor for further clarification or additional training.

About You

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two to five years of similar or related experience.

  • A college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations, and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, education, and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Expert use of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Database experience preferred. Must possess ability to prepare written reports and present formal presentations.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
