About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Portfolio Manager II for our Murray branch.

ROLE:

Responsible for providing competent credit analysis and portfolio management for commercial lending activities. Oversee credit workflows and processes necessary for the team to achieve optimal levels of production while maintaining excellent credit quality in the portfolio. PM’s work directly with clients on requests and portfolio management duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee a complex loan portfolio between $60mm and $92mm in loans outstanding.
  2. Maintain optimal portfolio quality by monitoring and ensuring:
    1. Borrowing Base Certificates are timely, accurate and filed.
    2. Lines secured with A/R & inventory assets are not overdrawn.
    3. Financial reporting requirements are timely, accurate and filed.
    4. Loan covenants are monitored in a manner that is timely and accurate.
    5. Portfolio delinquency is minimized.
    6. Maturing loans are tracked and properly addressed prior to maturity.
    7. Annual reviews and ADC reviews are completed in a manner that is timely and accurate.
    8. Graded credits have accurate and updated Problem Loan Reports.
  3. Perform commercial loan underwriting tasks such as analyzing business & personal tax returns and financial statements, identifying trends and concerns, and working closely with assigned commercial team and customers to understand & mitigate credit issues.
  4. Assess credit worthiness of individuals, companies, and institutions.
  5. Undertake risk analysis using regional and industry-specific data and gauge market trends.
  6. Provide informed professional opinions to bank officers regarding applicants' financial/credit status, suggest loan structures, and support the lending process.
  7. Clearly and professionally communicate with lending teams and customers and respond to communication within one business day.
  8. Adhere to and possess deep knowledge of loan policy while underwriting and discussing potential loan requests.
  9. Complete preflight memos to be presented to Senior Credit Risk Officers for new loan requests greater than $5mm.
  10. Complete credit memos to be presented for approval for both new and renewing loans within 15 days of receiving a complete application.
  11. Complete quality assurance reviews.
  12. Determine the value of collateral; review independent appraisal reports and other collateral documents that secure the bank’s lien position.
  13. Lead projects primarily related to credit administration issues and potential changes in policies and procedures, as well as compliance and regulations.
  14. Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, in addition to all company policies.
  15. Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s). It is the individual learner's responsibility to ensure that they understand the information given to them in each training.
  16. Adhere to Altabank Core Values.
  17. Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems.
  18. Participate in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of Altabank.
  19. Provide superior internal and external customer service: demonstrate self-governance, courtesy, and respect toward external and internal customers.
  20. Represent Altabank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “can-do” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs.
  21. Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers.
  22. Additional duties as requested or assigned.

About You

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Two to five years of similar or related experience.
  2. A college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  1. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations, and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports, and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience.
  2. Expert use of Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Database experience preferred. Must possess the ability to prepare written reports and present formal presentations.

Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
