Director, Alternative Asset Management Headhunter | Executive Search

We are partnered with a leading alternative asset manager seeking a Directional Macro Portfolio Manager to join the firm in New York or Miami.

Here, you will be responsible for developing and implementing top-down, macro-driven trading strategies, taking directional market exposure with flexibility for beta and drawdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute macro-driven, directional trading strategies across FX/Rates, Commodities, or Equities.
• Actively manage portfolio risk, optimizing trade structures and position sizing.
• Identify and capitalize on market dislocations and emerging macro themes to generate alpha.
• Continuously refine and enhance trading models, signals, and execution strategies.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience running a macro strategy, with a proven track record of profitability.
• Strong understanding of macro drivers, central bank policy, and geopolitical risks.
• Experience working within a collaborative, fast-paced trading environment.
• Experience leading a team and familiarity with the hiring process.
