Job summary

Stearns Bank is seeking a Team Lead, Portfolio Management to guide a team of Portfolio Managers handling SBA and small business loans in regular servicing status. You will work with credit, lending, and legal teams to ensure accurate diligence, timely requests, and proper documentation of loan files.

The role emphasizes proactive risk monitoring, identifying credit risks, and pursuing opportunities to strengthen the bank's portfolio while maintaining regulatory compliance and strong customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years portfolio management experience.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to assess financial statements, cash flow, and projections.
• Excellent communication and team-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise SBA and Portfolio Management Team including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Manage a portfolio of credit relationships ensuring credit quality and adherence to policy.
• Assess and document loan reviews and financial statements quarterly.
• Structure and negotiate loan agreements; manage workout and distressed credits to maximise recovery.
• Oversee quarterly loan presentations to senior leadership and loan committee.
• Respond to customer inquiries and servicing requests per SBA SOP 50 57 and policy.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and drive relationship growth.
