Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors offers a 9-week summer internship for undergraduate or graduate students in New York, fully in-person. Interns will work alongside Portfolio Managers, supporting daily PM desk activities and executing data-driven enhancements to investment strategies.

The role provides exposure to modern financial economics, interaction with multiple departments, and an opportunity to present results to senior management. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.2; pursuing an undergraduate or specialized Master’s degree with an expected graduation date of December 2027 - June 2028
• Interest in financial markets and passionate about improving the investment experience
• Excellent quantitative problem-solving and analytic skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Detail-oriented, organized, highly motivated, and able to work independently and in a team environment
• Self-starter who can manage multiple projects and meeting deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Knowledge of databases (MS Access, SQL) preferred
• Knowledge of Python preferred
• Ability to absorb and apply information from formal and informal learning experiences

Responsibilities

• Support daily needs of the Portfolio Management strategy desks and broader investment team
• Work side by side with Portfolio Managers on data-informed enhancements and projects
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management
• Collaborate with Trading, Research, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Client Group to improve investment experience
