Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors is seeking an Investment Engineering Intern to join the Investments Team. This nine-week in-person program exposes interns to day-to-day IE group activities, with projects supporting portfolio management, data quality, and automation.

You will apply quantitative reasoning and coding to build tools, define data structures, and analyze portfolios and prospective strategies, gaining visibility into Dimensional’s investment philosophy and reporting processes.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.2 or higher and pursuing an undergraduate or specialized Master’s degree with an expected graduation date December 2027 – June 2028.
• Experience working with data.
• Programming skills in C#, Python, R, Stata, or Java.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help manage and distribute quality data and analysis to aid the portfolio management and sales processes;
• Build new tools to enhance investment processes;
• Help define and build data structures for distribution of data to end consumers;
• Perform analysis on portfolios and prospective strategies;
• Contribute to ongoing efficiency efforts through automation, process design, and implementation.
