The Impact You Will Have In This Role

The Director, Portfolio Management is a senior team leader responsible for owning the enterprise “front door” advisory model that connects enterprise strategy, business priorities, portfolio planning, prioritization, investment trade-offs and value realization. The Director is accountable for portfolio execution discipline, initiative outcomes, portfolio health visibility and executive-ready recommendations that help leaders make informed choices on funding, capacity, risk and value.

Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the Portfolio Management team, including team priorities, operating rhythm, stakeholder coverage, delivery commitments, coaching, development and performance expectations.
  • Own the enterprise front-door advisory model for portfolio intake, planning, prioritization, investment trade-offs, value realization and senior leadership decision support.

  • Be accountable for portfolio execution and initiative outcomes, including expected benefits, measurable value, portfolio health, delivery risks and realization of intended business results.
  • Drive and coordinate annual planning, including intake, evaluation, prioritization, demand shaping, funding alignment, resource capacity assessment and leadership review preparation.
  • Facilitate ongoing portfolio management routines that surface portfolio-level risks, issues, dependencies, resource constraints and decision needs for senior leaders.
  • Own portfolio metrics, including KPI and OKR design, operational and outcome measures, portfolio health indicators, value realization tracking and visibility into trends and performance insights.
  • Lead investment trade-off analysis across strategy, value, risk, capacity and funding, using data-driven criteria to recommend where to start, stop, scale, defer or reshape investments.
  • Provide review and challenge of plans, assumptions, risks, mitigation strategies and portfolio forecasts to improve decision quality, accountability and execution confidence.
  • Partner across Business, Technology, Finance, Risk and delivery teams on planning, demand, funding, capacity, prioritization and executive-ready insights, recommendations and decision materials.

  • Inspire Growth: Develop yourself and others through coaching, feedback and mentorship to meet career goals. Build capabilities of others and strengthen our organization.
  • Propel Change: Think critically, respectfully challenge and create innovative ways to drive growth. Be bold and challenge to make things better.
Qualifications
  • More than 10 years of related experience in portfolio management, PMO/EPMO, business management, strategy execution, investment planning or a related discipline, including experience leading teams, managing delivery through others and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Master’s or advanced degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
Talents Needed For Success
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex portfolios across operational ("Run"), business growth ("Grow"), and strategic transformation ("Transform") initiatives, ensuring alignment to enterprise strategy, investment priorities, risk appetite and value realization objectives.
