Job summary

Truist is seeking a Credit Underwriter to assess and structure commercial loan requests, ensuring alignment with risk philosophy and profitability targets. You will analyze financial statements, advise on credit structures, and maintain strong client relationships across assigned geographies.

The role requires up to 3–5 years in commercial lending, a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and training.
• 3 years or less experience in commercial lending/credit.
• Understanding of financial and cost accounting principles.
• Comprehensive commercial lending knowledge and regulatory familiarity.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (MS Office).
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite credit requests and structure loans to align with risk appetite.
• Analyze financial statements and adjust spreads as needed.
• Interact with clients regarding loan requests and portfolio actions.
• Adhere to Truist policies and determine appropriate exceptions.
