Job summary

Palms Casino Resort is seeking a diligent cleaner to maintain the cleanliness of all public areas and equipment across the property. You will operate cleaning equipment safely, ensure surfaces and décor are dust-free, and perform heavy cleaning tasks when required.

The role requires at least 1 year of related experience, with hotel/gaming exposure preferred. You must be able to obtain necessary work authorization, and be available for nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience; 6 months in a hotel/gaming property preferred.
• Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing, work permits, and other work authorization cards as required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleanliness and sanitization of all public areas within the property.
• Carefully and safely operate all cleaning equipment.
• Ensure all signs, light fixtures, picture frames, TV Monitors, and décor are dust-free.
• Perform heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, polishing marbles, pressure washing, and waste removal.
• Notify management of supplies or equipment maintenance needs.
• Follow procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects and materials.
• Follow procedures for cleanup of blood or infectious materials per OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard.
• Ensure chemicals have proper SDS labels and are used per manufacturer’s instructions.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests; assist guests with disabilities; provide genuine appreciation.
• Must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Core Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitization of all public areas within the property.


• Carefully and safely operate all cleaning equipment.


• Ensure all informational signs, light fixtures, picture frames, TV Monitors, and various high décor to be free of dust.


• Heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, polishing marbles, pressure washing, emptying trashcans, performing biohazard clean-up, etc.


• Notifies management of supplies needed or equipment requiring maintenance.


• Follows the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects and materials.


• Follows the required procedures for the cleanup of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and exposure control plan.


• Guarantees all chemicals in assigned areas have proper labels according to the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and ensures all cleaning materials/equipment are utilized per the manufacturer’s instructions.


• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.


• Must be available to work all shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.


• Perform other job duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of (1) year of related experience required and six (6) months of experience within a hotel/gaming property is preferred.


• Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing, work permits, and other work authorization cards based on the job they perform.

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed throughout the property, indoors and outdoors.


• Must be tolerant of varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.


• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


• Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.


• Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.


• Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.


• Eye/hand coordination.


• Use of standard office equipment.


• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
