Porter / Janitor

Location: Pooler, GA

Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m.

Shift Rotation: Employees will be assigned to either the A & D or B & C crew. Workdays rotate according to the assigned 2026 shift schedule and may include weekends and holidays. The schedule is based on a rotating calendar rather than a traditional Monday–Friday workweek.

Kelly Services is hiring a reliable and safety-focused Porter/Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized production facility. This position supports sanitation operations throughout the production floor and GMP areas while following all food safety, company, OSHA, and EPA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors, walls, and common areas.
• Restock handwashing and water stations.
• Collect and remove trash from common areas.
• Receive and manage bulk chemical deliveries.
• Refill and distribute cleaning chemicals as needed.
• Replace cleaning tools and supplies.
• Complete sanitation tasks assigned through the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Follow GMP guidelines and promptly report food safety or safety concerns.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow company, plant, OSHA, and EPA policies and procedures.
• Assist with operating floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment after training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Reliable, dependable, organized, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Availability to work assigned weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, kneel, bend, squat, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Willingness to learn how to operate forklifts and floor scrubbers.
• Previous janitorial, sanitation, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.

Work Environment

This position is performed on an active production floor and involves frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals. Employees must be comfortable working around chemicals and following all required safety procedures, including proper PPE use, labeling, storage, and handling requirements.
