Porter Endoscopy

  • We are looking for a Porter willing to go the extra mile to ensure compassionate and excellent patient-focused care is always delivered. This is a part-time role, 25 hours per week. The successful candidates will join our friendly and dynamic team.

Main duties of the job

Key Duties:

  1. Carry out the full range of portering duties.
  2. Respond to tasks allocated by the Endoscopy department in line with department procedures.
  3. Move items of furniture/equipment within the department.
  4. Visually and verbally risk-assess every patient prior to carrying out any clinical investigation.
  5. Assist with maintaining daily records and statistics of clinical activity.
  6. Occasional exposure to distressing circumstances, e.g., vulnerable/aggressive patients and during mortuary duties.
  7. Receive and report verbal and written communication, including responding to a bleep, answering the telephone, taking messages, and keeping records for the departmental database.
  8. Respond promptly to job allocations from the Endoscopy department.
  9. Perform minor maintenance and clean equipment to meet departmental infection control standards.
  10. Undergo training when required to stay updated with new equipment and technology.
  11. Report any untoward events or uncertainties to a senior team member.
  12. Adhere to all Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and departmental policies and procedures.
  13. Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade, as instructed by the Head of Department.

Qualifications
