Water's Edge at Port Jefferson for Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Porter to maintain clean and safe environments for residents and staff. The role involves dusting, mopping, trash collection, and general housekeeping across resident rooms and common areas.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to read/write/speak English, and demonstrate reliability and a team-oriented attitude. LTC experience is preferred but not required.

Porter Job Description

Provide a clean and safe environment for our residents, visitors, and staff in accordance with all applicable laws and regulation. Perform day to day housekeeping services such as dusting, moping, and collecting trash. Must be flexible, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.

Pay Rate: Up to $18an hour

Porter Duties Include but are not limited to:

Maintain resident rooms, dining rooms, offices and all general areas of facility by cleaning restrooms, walls, baseboards, doors, mirrors, dusting, removing trash, sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables and furniture while making sure to follow all proper cleaning techniques and protocols.

Porter Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation
• Experience in LTC preferred but not required
• Positive attitude and team mentality
• Must be able to read/write/speak English
• Must be 18 years of age

Pay Rate: Up to $18an hour
