Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living, a premier luxury senior care community in the New York area, seeks a Porter to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and guests. You will clean common areas and assist the Director of Housekeeping to ensure high standards of hospitality and care daily.

Ideal candidates are friendly, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced setting, with excellent English communication and a genuine passion for senior care. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• An upbeat, friendly, courteous demeanor with residents, guests, and team members.

• Experience in restaurant, healthcare, hospital, hotel or hospitality is a plus.
• Prior experience with a senior population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned common areas of the community as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of bathrooms, function rooms, stairways, hallways, parking lot, windows, carpets and all public areas.
• Assist the Director of Housekeeping where needed and support special cleaning projects.
• Assist with snow removal as necessary.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service to residents and guests.

As a luxury assisted living community, we operate much like a high-end hotel. And that means delivering the ultimate experience in guest services and hospitality every day and in every way. We are seeking an experienced, responsible and well‑mannered Porter to create and maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our residents throughout our community. You will be required to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our busy common areas, including bathrooms, function rooms, stairways, hallways, the parking lot, sidewalks, windows, carpets, floors and all other public areas, as required. You will often come into contact with residents, resident families, other guests and team members, and we expect you to maintain a friendly, courteous and positive attitude at all times, so that these encounters are always pleasant and professional. In this role you will be cleaning assigned common areas of the community in accordance with the guidelines established by the Director of Housekeeping and will assist the Director when and where needed. Special cleaning projects and assistance with snow removal as necessary may be required. The loving care, attention to detail and great customer service you bring to your responsibilities as a Porter are fundamental to the quality of life and the general wellbeing of our residents every day.

Must be able to work at least one weekend day per week (Tues–Sat or Sun–Thurs).

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Skills/qualifications

• An upbeat, friendly, pleasant and courteous demeanor when dealing with peers, supervisors, guests, residents and management
• Must be consistent, reliable and thorough with all cleaning practices
• Must excel in providing cleaning services in a fast-paced environment
• Experience providing cleaning services in the restaurant, healthcare, hospital, hotel, hospitality or similar industry is a plus
• Prior experience working with a senior population is preferred
• Must be able to communicate in English
