Responsibilities

• Community curb appeal & grounds: Remove litter, debris, and maintain walkways, parking areas, and landscaping.
• Amenity & common area care: Clean shared spaces including leasing office, clubhouse, fitness center, laundry, and restrooms.
• Waste & trash management: Keep chute rooms clean and manage bulky items during move-outs.
• Apartment turnover support: Prep vacant units, remove leftovers, and replace light bulbs and filters.
• Floor & surface upkeep: Sweep, mop, power-wash, vacuum, and dust fixtures and surfaces.
• Safety & hazard reporting: Inspect for safety issues and report to management.
• Resident relations: Provide courteous service to residents, prospects, and vendors.
• General upkeep: Assist with seasonal tasks and other duties as assigned.

Porter - Apartment Complexes - Temporary assignment - $18/hr - Immediate need!!!

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, resident-focused Porter to join our residential property management team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal of our apartment community. From keeping common amenities spotless to ensuring grounds and trash areas are clean, your work directly impacts resident satisfaction and community pride.

Key Responsibilities

Community Curb Appeal & Grounds: Perform daily morning and afternoon walkthroughs to remove litter, trash, and debris from walkways, parking lots, courtyards, pet areas, and landscaping. Vacuum, sweep, or leaf-blow breezeways, hallways, and entranceways regularly.

Amenity & Common Area Care: Execute daily cleaning protocols for all shared community spaces, including the leasing office, clubhouse, resident lounges, fitness center, laundry facilities, pool deck, elevator lobbies, and public restrooms.

Waste & Trash Chute Management: Keep trash chute rooms, compactors, and dumpster enclosures clean, sanitary, and free of overflow. Handle the staging and removal of bulky discarded items (e.g., furniture, mattresses) during resident move-outs.

Apartment Turnover Support: Assist the maintenance team in prepping vacant units for new residents by clearing out leftover items, hauling away trash, performing light touch-up cleaning, and replacing burned-out lightbulbs or HVAC filters.

Floor & Surface Upkeep: Sweep, wet-mop, power-wash, and vacuum assigned indoor and outdoor common areas, stairwells, and corridors. Dust light fixtures, handrails, mail stations, and common area furniture.

Safety & Hazard Reporting: Routinely inspect the property for safety concerns, broken light fixtures, damaged locks, missing smoke detectors or fire extinguishers, vandalism, or pest activity, and report them promptly to management.

Resident Relations: Deliver exceptional customer service by interacting politely and professionally with residents, prospects, and vendors, assisting with minor requests or directing inquiries to the management office.

General Upkeep: Assist with minor seasonal tasks (e.g., light snow removal/salting, outdoor furniture setup) and complete other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience:Prior porter/maintenance experience in residential property management, hospitality housekeeping, or commercial facility maintenance.

Resident Service Mindset: Personable, approachable, and customer-service-driven with strong communication skills.

Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy to access company communication apps, review schedules, or log work tasks.

Efficiency & Autonomy: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing daily cleaning routines with minimal supervision.
