Job summary

Verrazano Nursing & Post-Acute Center is seeking a dedicated Porter/Housekeeper for Saturday and Sunday to join our team. The role focuses on cleanliness, organization, and the smooth operation of the facility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents.

The Porter/Housekeeper will perform floor care, coordinate with nursing staff on daily housekeeping, and strictly follow safety precautions while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel and residents.
• Must be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Must maintain cleanliness and appearance of housekeeping areas; perform regular inspections.
• Must have experience in floor care.

Responsibilities

• Waxing, buffering and stripping floors.
• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning. Refer to manufacturer’s instructions when necessary
• Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to your supervisor.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our residents.

Responsibilities
