Job summary

MRK Partners seeks a dedicated Porter to keep our Sewell and Mullica Hill communities clean and welcoming. You will prepare vacated apartments for new residents and maintain common areas, offices and grounds to ensure safety and quality living spaces.

The role requires ability to work a flex schedule, weekends, evenings or holidays as needed, and a valid driver’s license. Benefits include medical, life, disability, 401(k) and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of general maintenance experience is preferred.
• Ability to read/speak English and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Patrol property daily and remove trash and debris from grounds and common areas.
• Restore vacated apartments to move-in condition including appliances and fixtures.
• Perform grounds maintenance such as mowing, weed removal, and snow/leaf removal.
• Clean offices and common areas; follow janitorial schedule and requirements.
• Assist maintenance staff with preventive maintenance and work orders.

At MRK, the Porter is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, appearance, and upkeep of the property. This includes ensuring that all grounds, common areas, interior spaces, and office areas are clean, safe, and well maintained. Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in offices, bathrooms, and shared spaces, helping to create a positive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. The Porter also prepares vacated apartments for new residents by restoring them to move-in condition.

We are seeking a dedicated Porter to support our County House (Sewell, NJ) & Spring Mill (Mullica Hill, NJ) communities, supporting 190 residential units.

Key Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Patrols property daily to identify areas in need of cleaning and completes required work—remove trash/debris from property grounds and common areas, keep the dumpster area clean, and vacuum, sweep and mop
• Restores vacated apartments to move-in condition for new residents—clean appliances, kitchen cabinets, sink and floors, bathroom—including toilet, tub, sink and floor, windows, front door, and performs touch-up painting as necessary
• Performs grounds maintenance, including weed removal, grass-cutting and planting, snow and leaf removal from property—sidewalks, walkways, steps and driveways/parking spaces
• Cleans property office as necessary—empty trash, vacuum carpets, clean bathroom and kitchen; Completes janitorial requirements in accordance with the janitorial schedule
• Assists maintenance technicians in performing preventive maintenance, capital improvements or satisfying work orders as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• One year of general maintenance experience in preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations is preferred
• Must be able to work a flex schedule and be on-call for emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Requires the ability to read, speak and comprehend the English language
• Ability to follow direction and work independently in a fast-paced, action-oriented environment
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• ANSI approved steel-toe/composite shoes
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must have reliable transportation
• Willing to assist with other properties within the portfolio and surrounding portfolios as needed (willing to travel up to 10% of the time)
