Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Gonzales, LA is seeking a dependable Porter to support vehicle cleaning before delivery and maintain shop and office cleanliness. You will pre-wash vehicles, tidy both interior and exterior areas, and help transport vehicles to sublet locations as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, ability to multitask, and a valid driver's license. Automotive experience is a plus and growth opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain daily housekeeping of the office interior (garbage, floors, dusting).
• Maintain production area housekeeping (trash, floors, tools, parts).
• Keep parking lots and grounds neat and orderly; shovel sidewalks as needed.
• Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs; clean after repairs.
• Transport vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver's license
• Strong attention to detail

Compensation Details

• $14 - $18/ Hour Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
