Job summary

SDK Apartments is hiring a full-time Porter for The Park View in East Orange, NJ to maintain a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment for residents. This onsite role requires inclement weather and holiday hours as needed.

As our porter, you will uphold SDK standards, provide exceptional customer service to residents, assist with basic maintenance, and keep common areas, amenity spaces and glass surfaces clean and well-maintained. A valid license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year porter experience in a multifamily environment.
• Working knowledge of cleaning best practices.
• Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Model behavior aligned with SDK values when interacting with anyone associated with SDK.
• Ensure the property (indoor and outdoor) is pristine and safe while meeting SDK standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service to the residents.
• Clean assigned areas throughout the day, including common areas and amenity spaces.
• Proactively enhance the property's aesthetic appeal and ensure pathways are clean and accessible.
• Take the lead on garbage disposal and report issues as needed.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks as assigned and report issues promptly.
• Routinely inspect property grounds and address potential issues.
• Comply with SDK policies, safety regulations and applicable laws.

The Park View is hiring a full-time Porter to help maintain a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment for residents by upholding high standards of aesthetics and cleanliness.

This is an onsite position based in East Orange, NJ. As this is an essential role, inclement weather and holiday hours are required.

About the Position

As our porter, you will…

• Model behavior that is aligned with SDK values when interacting with anyone associated with SDK.
• Ensure the property (indoor and outdoor) is in pristine and safe condition while meeting all SDK standards.
• Provide exceptional customer service to the residents.
• Clean assigned areas as needed throughout the day including common areas, amenity spaces if applicable, and glassed areas.
• Proactively take measures to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the property.
• Ensure pathways are clean and accessible.
• Take lead on garbage disposal throughout the property.
• May handle basic maintenance throughout the property proactively and as assigned; reports issues as needed.
• Routinely inspect property grounds to identify potential issues; addresses as needed.
• Perform all work following SDK policies, procedures, safety and health regulations and applicable laws.
• Performs other related duties proactively and as assigned.

About Your Professional Background & Skills

• A minimum of 1 year of porter experience in a multifamily environment.
• Working knowledge of cleaning best practices.
• Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail skills.
• Great customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with office technology such as MSOffice.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid license.
• Possess stellar references and a stable employment history.
• Must be able to work with any employer in the US without any restrictions whatsoever.

The gross hourly pay range for this position is between $16.00 - 17.00. The actual compensation will be based on factors unique to the candidate, including direct years of experience and depth of knowledge.
