Job summary

Scribe in Norwalk is seeking a Porter to keep the building clean and welcoming. You will dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain common areas, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Ideal candidates have janitorial or maintenance experience, strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to work at least one weekend day.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of all common areas; dust, sweep, wet mop, vacuum, and empty garbage.
• Report notable concerns such as vandalism, missing light bulbs or fixtures, and missing smoke detectors or extinguishers to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Keep the property and parking lots in a neat and orderly manner.
• Perform building walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs.
• Keep accurate and organized supplies and supply lists.
• Accurately record and report your own time.
• Respond to cleaning requests at the direction of the Property Manager or Assistant Property Manager when the Maintenance Superintendent is not available.
• Accurately communicate work requested and work executed to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Role Summary:

The Porter is responsible for performing all regular cleaning activities at the rental building. This includes removing debris, maintaining common areas, restocking bathrooms, and more. This position impacts our residents by ensuring all common areas in the building are in excellent condition. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.
