Job summary

GMH Communities in Durham, NC seeks a part-time Porter to keep the grounds, pool, and common areas clean and appealing. You will handle work orders, assist with the Turn and Make Ready process, and support residents with friendly service.

On-call and weekend hours may be required; basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is preferred, along with a valid driver's license. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a collegial work environment.

• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Basic understanding of plumbing.
• A valid driver’s license, good driving record and proof of insurance is required.
• The ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of pool upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the daily operations of the property
• Cleanliness of the grounds, pool, leasing office, parking lots/structures, and common community areas

Job Description:

The Porter reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the overall cleanliness and curb appeal of the community. The primary responsibilities of the Porter are grounds, parking lot, and community area upkeep, work orders, and maintaining excellent resident relations through outstanding customer service. On call and weekend hours may be required.
