Job summary

Brookfield Properties is seeking a reliable building cleaning staff member to maintain clean and orderly commercial spaces across our properties. The role covers offices, restrooms, lobbies and common areas, with responsibilities ranging from routine floor care to basic repairs and setup for events.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least some prior experience on commercial or multi-unit properties.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
• <1 year of prior experience working on a commercial or multi-unit residential property.
• Computer and smartphone literacy; must communicate clearly in English; multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cleans offices, bathrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms.
• Wet- or dry-mop floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, removing rubbish, pressure washing, gum and graffiti removal.
• Make minor repairs, painting and carpentry, replenish bathroom supplies, landscaping and snow removal.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
• Sets up tables and chairs in auditorium, meeting rooms or hall.
• This position requires a High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent work experience
• <1 year of required prior experience in working on a commercial or multi-unit residential property
• Computer and smart phone literacy required. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, for all work-related responsibilities. Multilingual skills are a plus.

Job Description

Overview:

Building cleaning workers - including porters, janitors, maids, housekeeping cleaners, window washers and rug shampooers - keep premises of commercial or institutional building in clean and orderly condition.
