Job summary

Peter Pan BMW in Burlingame is seeking a Porter to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the showroom and vehicle lots. You will move vehicles, ensure proper documentation, and assist with inventory tasks while greeting customers professionally.

The role requires safety-conscious operation of both automatic and manual vehicles, attention to detail, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicles to and from showroom, exterior areas, service department, parking garage or other storage areas to maintain inventory and assist customers and staff
• Ensures documentation is placed in vehicles, including window stickers, manuals, and promotional materials
• Creates key tags and maintains keys for new, used and loaner vehicles
• Delivers keys and materials to departments on request
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Performs general cleanup of vehicles (dusting, vacuuming, wiping, rinsing)
• Keeps vehicle lots neat and organized
• Maintains cleanliness of designated department
• Shuttles customers as needed
• Fills vehicles with fuel
• Operates tools and equipment safely
• Uses PPE when required
• Follows work rules, procedures, and attendance standards

Job description

Summary/Objective
The Porter keeps designated department area and outside vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars in accordance with company and manufactures' policies and assisting with inventory paperwork among other duties.

Essential Functions

• Drives vehicles to and from showroom, exterior vehicle display areas, service department, parking garage or other storage areas to designated location as needed to maintain inventory and assist customers and other dealership employees in retrieval of vehicles
• Ensures all required documentation is placed in vehicles, including but not limited to window stickers, manuals, promotional materials
• Creates key tags for vehicles, organizes and maintains keys for new, used and loaner vehicles
• Delivers keys and other materials various departments on request
• Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Performs general cleanup of vehicles including dusting, vacuuming, wiping and rinsing
• Keeps vehicle lot(s) neat and organized
• Maintains cleanliness of designated department
• Shuttles customers as needed
• Fills vehicle with fuel
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner

Preferred Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent; six months or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver's license
Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) may not drive vehicles off of the dealership premises.
