Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Porter to keep designated areas and lots neat, move vehicles, and assist with inventory paperwork. You will drive vehicles between locations, ensure documentation is in each vehicle, and greet customers professionally.

Responsibilities include keeping lots organized, fueling vehicles, and performing general vehicle care. Flexible hours including nights and weekends may be required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles to and from showroom, display areas, service, parking or storage areas to maintain inventory.
• Ensure all required documentation is placed in vehicles (window stickers, manuals, promotional materials).
• Create key tags and organize keys for vehicles.
• Deliver keys and materials to various departments on request.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Perform general cleanup of vehicles including dusting, vacuuming, wiping and rinsing.
• Keep vehicle lot(s) neat and organized and maintain department cleanliness.
• Shuttle customers as needed and fuel vehicles.
• Operate tools and equipment safely and follow protective guidelines.
• Follow attendance, timekeeping, and work rules; attend company meetings as required.
• Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary/Objective

The Porter keeps designated department area and outside vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars in accordance with company and manufactures' policies and assisting with inventory paperwork among other duties.

Essential Functions

• Drives vehicles to and from showroom, exterior vehicle display areas, service department, parking garage or other storage areas to designated location as needed to maintain inventory and assist customers and other dealership employees in retrieval of vehicles
• Ensures all required documentation is placed in vehicles, including but not limited to window stickers, manuals, promotional materials
• Creates key tags for vehicles, organizes and maintains keys for new, used and loaner vehicles
• Delivers keys and other materials various departments on request
• Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Performs general cleanup of vehicles including dusting, vacuuming, wiping and rinsing
• Keeps vehicle lot(s) neat and organized
• Maintains cleanliness of designated department
• Shuttles customers as needed
• Fills vehicle with fuel
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection
• Understands and follows work rules and procedures
• Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherence to timekeeping standards including recording time of arrival, departure and all breaks.
• Follows lawful directions from supervisors
• Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
• Attends company meetings as required.

Preferred Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent; six months or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Certification/Licenses/Registrations)

Valid driver's license
Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) may not drive vehicles off of the dealership premises.

Safety Sensitive Position
