Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a portable sanitation Equipment Associate in South Plainfield, NJ. You will help ensure units are rent-ready, perform routine checks, and maintain the yard to standards. This role emphasizes safety and hands-on maintenance across loading, unloading, and repairs.

The position offers on-site work with potential weekend/after-hours shifts during busy seasons, and provides clear paths into Driver and Service Technician development programs. Training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
• Experience with yard equipment is a plus; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Perform routine checks on portable sanitation equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order.
• General facility maintenance and minor repairs.
• Load/unload units, with forklift as needed.
• Ensure trucks are loaded for the next day with clean, repaired units.
• Maintain an organized yard and inventory spaces.
• Quality check units to verify rent-ready status.
