Job summary

UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking a reliable Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team as a Fire Extinguisher Safety Specialist. You will inspect, service, repair portable extinguishers and emergency lighting, train teammates, and support fleet customers while promoting our fire services.

This full-time role offers on-the-job training, competitive hourly pay, profit sharing, health insurance, and other benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• NFPA extinguisher certification/license required.
• Experience with NFPA 10 inspections preferred.
• Fire extinguisher license/certification as required by local authorities.
• Ability to travel within the designated territory.
• Excellent communication skills; sales experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting inspection, service, repair, and maintenance.
• Train team members in portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting service and inspection tasks.
• Provide portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting technical support.
• Assist with monthly and annual inspections to maintain NFPA 10 compliance.
• Inspect emergency egress lighting and exit signs as required.
• Provide customer onsite audits and quoting for fire services.
• Present and demonstrate fire products/services to customers and coordinate with service department for client satisfaction.
• Maintain and service portable fire equipment and emergency exit lighting systems for existing customers.
