Job summary

UniFirst First Aid + Safety in Memphis, TN is seeking a Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician, “Fire Extinguisher Safety Specialist,” to join our team. You will inspect, service, repair, and maintain portable extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting, train teammates, and provide technical support.

The role also involves selling fire services, promoting products, and covering for teammates as needed. We offer on-the-job training, competitive hourly pay, 401K with company match, profit sharing,

Qualifications

• High school or GED equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required.
• NFPA Extinguisher Certification/License is required by state law.
• Experience performing monthly and annual inspections on portable extinguishers.
• Ability to travel within the designated territory.
• Excellent communication skills for scheduling and customer interaction.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct portable fire extinguisher inspections, service, repair and maintenance.
• Inspect emergency/exit lighting and perform related tasks.
• Train team members in extinguisher and emergency lighting inspection tasks.
• Provide technical support to team members and customers.
• Assist with on-site audits and quoting for fire services.
• Present and demonstrate fire-related products/services to customers.
• Cover team member vacations and absences by servicing equipment and lighting.
• Provide software training for fire services inspection as needed.
