Job summary

UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking a reliable Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician to inspect, service and maintain portable extinguishers and emergency/exit lighting. You will train teammates, provide technical support, and help grow our fire services portfolio.

The role emphasizes cross-training, customer interaction, and covering inspections across our established customer base. A valid NFPA extinguisher certification and ability to travel are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• NFPA Extinguisher Certification/License required.
• Experience performing monthly/annual inspections to NFPA 10.
• Travel within designated territory.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting inspection, service, repair, and maintenance.
• Train team members in inspection, service and related tasks.
• Provide technical support for portable fire extinguisher and emergency/exit lighting.
• Assist inspections to maintain NFPA 10 compliance.
• Assist with testing emergency egress lighting and exit signs.
• Provide on-site audits and quoting for fire service.
• Present and demonstrate fire-related products/services to customers.
• Service, repair and maintain portable fire equipment and lighting for existing customers.
• Provide fire services inspection software training to team members.
