All Modal Transportation in Huntington Park, CA, is seeking an experienced Fleet Dispatcher/Transportation Manager to oversee day-to-day operations for our port drayage services.

You will dispatch routes, coordinate with terminals, manage company trucks and drivers, ensure DOT/OSHA compliance, and work with the Office Manager on driver qualification, training, and retention. The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and budget/metrics monitoring to drive performance and profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of port-drayage dispatching experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask multiple functions simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and flexibility for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage operation of steady routes; dispatch and schedule appointments with terminals, pick-ups, and drop-offs.
• Oversee local fleet of drivers and company-owned trucks.
• Provide complete oversight of drivers and daily terminal operations.
• Collaborate with Office Manager on driver qualification, training, and retention.
• Ensure DOT and OSHA regulatory compliance within company guidelines.
• Coordinate routine and non-routine maintenance for trucks with area shops.
• Handle roadside assistance needs and minimize on-the-road repairs.
• Monitor budgets and operational metrics, diagnose issues, and improve profitability.
• Perform other duties as required.

All Modal Transportation is looking to fill a position for an experienced and energetic Fleet Dispatcher/Transportation Manager to support our year-round operations. All Modal is a Drayage & Intermodal Trucking company servicing the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the rails roads. The position is responsible for managing the daily operations of our drivers and company-owned trucks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• - Managing operation of steady routes; dispatching and scheduling appointments with terminals, pick-ups, and drop-offs
• - Responsible for managing a local fleet of Drivers
• - Complete oversight of our drivers and daily terminal operations
• - Working closely with the Office Manager in regard to the qualification, hiring, training, and retention of drivers
• - Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and the ability to operate in compliance with these regulations as well as within company guidelines
• - Managing routine and non-routine maintenance for all the trucks and coordinating such repairs with various shops in the area
• - Handling roadside assistance needs and developing a cost-effective way to minimize on-the-road tire changes and repairs
• - Monitoring budget and operational metrics while diagnosing and improving processes and procedures to ultimately improve performance and profitability
• - Other duties as required

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• - Minimum of 2 years of port - drayage dispatching experience and operations in the trucking industry
• - Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
• - Ability to multi-task various functions simultaneously
• - Maintain a positive attitude
• - Have strong attention to detail
• - Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and long hours
• - Strong computer skills – good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook
• - Professional driving experience is a plus
• - Spanish, Russian, or Bulgarian speaking is a plus
