Pursuit in Alaska seeks a skilled Port Engineer to lead maintenance of our vessel and land fleet, ensuring safety, reliability and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate with Maintenance Manager and Captains, document activities, and manage parts and service vendors.

This role requires extensive marine maintenance experience, USCG Subchapter T knowledge, and a proactive, hands-on leader who can drive cost‑effective solutions while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 10 years of marine maintenance experience with knowledge of USCG Subchapter T regulations.
• Professional certification or formal training in marine technician/engineer fields preferred.
• Able to obtain a DOT Medical Card or CDL.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and marine electronics.
• Experience with DOT inspections for commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct maintenance on the fleet, documenting activities.
• Develop maintenance and repair plans with cost and safety focus.
• Oversee daily tasks of Assistant Port Engineers and guide long‑term projects.
• Ensure inspections of vital systems and rectify deficiencies.
• Assist with vendor coordination to optimize parts and service purchases.
• Maintain inventory and minimize downtime, especially in peak season.
• Support safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across operations.
