Job summary

Curtin Maritime is seeking a Port Engineer (Fleet/Shipyard Superintendent) to lead vessel engineering efforts from a shoreside role in Long Beach, CA. The role involves collaboration with the Senior Port Engineer and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient engineering operations across the fleet.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of related experience, strong computer and administrative skills, and will participate in vessel drydockings, budgeting, and Helm Connect tasks.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of related experience in engineering positions on tugboats or similar mechanical roles.
• TWIC Card required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Port Engineer with Vessel Engineers and shoreside support staff.
• Support implementation of engineering policies and procedures.
• Oversee purchasing related to normal vessel operations.
• Enforce Helm Connect related to engineering tasks.
• Assist management of Vessel Engineers and coordinate tasks.
• Attend vessel drydock periods and report progress and budgets.
• Mobilize and outfit vessels for long-term or specialty jobs.
