Job summary

Curtin Maritime is seeking a Port Engineer (Fleet/Shipyard Superintendent) to collaborate with the Senior Port Engineer and lead shoreside and vessel engineering teams from Long Beach, CA. You’ll oversee engineering policies, purchasing, and Helm Connect workflows to support fleet readiness and project execution.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, 5+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in engineering or mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in managing vessel drydockings and hands-on mechanical work is preferred.
• Strong computer and administrative skills for shoreside roles.
• Must be able to travel/relocate to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Port Engineer with vessel engineers and shoreside staff.
• Support implementation of engineering policies and procedures.
• Oversee purchasing related to vessel operations and review requisitions.
• Enforce Helm Connect tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate task delegation to vessel engineers and manage their assignments.
• Attend vessel drydock periods and report progress and budgets.
• Support training development and policy implementation for engineering.
