Job summary

Watco Transloading, LLC is seeking a Deckhand (In Port Services Only) in Sauget, IL. This hands-on role covers barge and dock work, general labor, material handling, and operating or assisting with heavy equipment at the terminal.

Team members help secure and move barges, maintain docks, and support loading/unloading of bulk materials such as coal. The position requires reading, writing, and English communication, with safety standards guiding all tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass training and required testing.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate or assist with heavy equipment throughout the terminal.
• Secure and move barges; maintain dock and work areas.
• Support loading and unloading activities and move bulk materials.
• Perform vessel maintenance, cleaning, scraping, painting, and oil/fuel changes.
• Follow SOPs for barge movement and tying knots.
• Work a rotating schedule and be available for overtime as needed.
