Job summary

Sítio El Tropicano, a vibrant resort and poolside venue in San Antonio, Texas, seeks a Server Assistant to support Bar Nado's bar, lounge, and pool deck. You will keep guest areas clean, assist guests with the QR ordering process, and back up runners and bartenders during peak periods.

The role requires attentive hospitality, clear communication, and safe movement in a lively pool environment, with opportunities to engage hotel guests, members, locals, and VIPs.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hotel, pool, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Interest in guest service and willingness to work in outdoor environment.
• Strong communication, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn Bar Nado’s seating areas, service procedures, and QR ordering process.
• Ability to follow direction and manage multiple tasks during busy service.
• Ability to safely carry used serviceware and supplies through active guest areas.
• Food Handler and TABC certifications required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and acknowledge guests throughout assigned areas.
• Help guests locate menus and understand how to place orders using the approved QR ordering process.
• Refer menu questions, dietary requests, order changes, and payment concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Respond promptly to guest requests within the scope of the role or notify a runner, bartender, or manager.
• Keep lounge, deck, and bar seating clean and ready for arriving guests.
• Check occupied areas regularly for used serviceware, spills, trash, and supplies that need attention.
• Respect guests’ privacy and personal space, including around chaises and day beds.
• Support a welcoming experience for hotel guests, members, local guests, and VIPs.
