Job summary

Ymca-of-Frederick-County is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to ensure the safety of pool participants and maintain a clean, welcoming pool area. The role requires strong customer service, ability to respond to concerns, and adherence to YMCA policies.

The Lifeguard will monitor activities, perform rescues when needed, and assist with pool operations such as water testing and equipment maintenance. Certification and ongoing training are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain neat, clean pool area at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Respond to patron concerns promptly and professionally.
• Report incidents to Aquatics Director or Associate Director.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Follow all policies in the Employee Handbook and related handbooks.
• Monitor pool activities per YMCA procedures and safety rules.
• Test and adjust pool water chemistry and balance as needed.
• Maintain lifeguard equipment and stay on active surveillance.
• Perform rescue procedures when required and provide first aid if necessary.
