Job summary

The Woodlands Resort, Curio Collection by HEI Hotels & Resorts in the Houston area is seeking a dedicated bartender to greet guests, mix and garnish drinks, stock the bar, and ensure compliance with state laws and company policies.

This full-time role requires accurate cash handling, POS operation, strong guest communication, and the ability to stand for long periods. You’ll help maintain inventory, support service standards, and contribute to an exceptional hospitality experience for our guests.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must communicate well with guests.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and POS procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis, stocking beer, wine, spirits, and supplies.
• Maintains stock and garnishes, ensuring quality of perishables daily.
• Greet guests, promote and document drink orders, garnish and present drinks with proper portions.
• Abide by state, federal and corporate alcohol-service requirements.
• Inputs orders into POS and creates checks, balances tips and beverages served.
• Receives cash, makes change, verifies charges, and balances money.
• Locks and stores beverage, food and equipment, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
